My name is Olivier, and I am a qualified watchmaker, fully accredited by the British Horological Institute.
I started my career as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, and, after many years working in Engineering and Project Management in the petrochemical industry, I decided to retrain and work full time on my long-standing passion for horology.
As you may have guessed from my name, I am French, but I now live and work in the UK. My workshop is based in Hampshire in the South of England.
I have been awarded the following diplomas by the BHI (British Horological Institute):
-
- Diploma in Clock and Watch Servicing (Level 3 – Technician grade)
- Diploma in the Servicing and Repair of Clocks/Watches (Level 4 – Fully accredited Member of the British Horological Institute)
The training associated with the Level 4 Diploma, typically carried out over three years, includes in-depth knowledge of many aspects of watchmaking, covering theory, traditional horological manual skills, and servicing.
I work as an independent watchmaker, carrying out service, restoration and repair work – typically full movement servicing, but also smaller jobs such as crystal/glass replacement, and battery replacement. Please see my price list for further details.
Typical pieces I work on include:
-
- Manual wind and automatic mechanical watches
- Quality quartz watches
- Chronographs and stopwatches.
I hope you enjoy reading the articles on my blog. I enjoy writing these articles and sharing my love of watches. For more photos you are welcome to visit my Instagram page
